I have now had hands on time with both the Wacom Bamboo Touch, and Bamboo Pen & Touch models. I am running Windows 7, so I did have a rough start when I first installed the Touch. At the time no drivers were up on the website, but now you can find them at: Wacom Hardware Drivers Wacom's tech support was great and got everything sorted in a wonderfully friendly and fast way, kudos for that!

In order to get everything working, I basically needed to uninstall some of the older drivers on my system. These included the Intuos4 drivers, Logitech drivers (since the Touch is basically a mouse, the two did not like each other), and my older Bamboo drivers. After that I had to install the latest Touch drivers first, rebooting. Second was installing the Intuos4 drivers if you have one, reboot. Finally reinstalling the Logitech Setpoint drivers, and a final reboot had everything working. My MS mouse and keyboard did not have any effect, so I left them alone. On my system I am running an Intuos4, Logitech Wave keyboard, Logitech Dinovo Edge, MS Intellisense mouse, MS ergo keyboard, and now the Pen & Touch.

My laptop also running Windows 7 did not have any problems, and it was as simple as plugging it in and waiting for Windows to install the drivers (it was actually Plug & Play!).

The Pen & Touch uses a new pen that does not work on my older Graphire, Bamboo, or Intuos4. Likewise none of the other pens worked with the new tablet. I do like the new pen design, it is nice to hold although not as nice when compared to the stock Intuos pen. It is a step up from the older pen designs though in my opinion. It came with a few extra tips which was nice. At first I was reserved about the red pen holder on the side of the tablet, but it works well enough. Honestly it is convenient, I do not have to look for a place on my desktop for the penholder, or leave them laying around ultimately becoming a target for my four year old. (on the bright side, if he grabs one the couch and walls are safe)

I did poke around, and the touch portion of the tablet saves its data to an xml file. This is all under WTouch in your appdata/roaming directory. I have not played around with this yet, but it looks like you could modify the file to use one monitor if needed. On my dual screen setup the touch works fine, just like you would expect a mouse to work. The pen portion can be set in the setup, which is now under Bamboo in the "start menu" instead of pen-tablet. It is nice that both portions of the setup are kept separate, you can use the tutorial that I wrote here to change monitors at the push of a button.

I have noticed I am going through tips/pen nibs rather quickly, Amazon has some in stock below, or by contacting Wacom directly.  While I say quickly, I am using the tablets daily and the Pen & Touch has replaced my mouse - actually tip mileage may vary depending on your use.
